i have searched this forum for answers on this, but i haven't seen anything that looks like it addresses this situation..
i am loading up a menu with a ton of entries.. one of them has 2k entries. i am starting to rethink putting that much detail into the menu... BUT... i am still running into VERY slow performance on the menus..
can someone give me an idea on this?
i have this menu:
http://red-red.webhop.net/ACP/menu.html
which is fed by this file:
http://red-red.webhop.net/ACP/menu_data.js
in IE, it barely loads... after considerable time...
in firefox, it loads sort of quicker.. but not much.

Hi,
There will always be a performance hit when using a lot of menus and menu items. This is because of the way DHTML Menus work, there's a lot to them.
We are working on improving performance all the time and hope to have something that works a little better soon.
Regards,
Andy

we have decided to remove a layer of detail from this thing in order to keep it more manageable..
it works great now!

Glad to hear that you're cutting back. 2K items is certainly a tad overwhelming, perhaps even enough to drive some customers away. FWIW, I think you made the right decision.
