Changing menu arrays - do I need special editor?

Hello, I am new at this so if this is already in the FAQ's I apologize. I have downloaded the scripts for the scrollable menu. When I change one of the variables for the menu array file, then I save, and reopen and I have errors and can not see menu at all. All I am changing is the color of the text or background, I am using hexadecimal colors? Do I need a special editor for the .js files? What am I doing wrong? :o

Just use any text editor, and make sure the file saves as text with whatever extension you are using (not trying to confuse you, but depending on what you have the array file doing for you it can be saved as menu_array.js or menu_array.cfm or menu_array.php, etc.).

If you'd like us to take a look just post the URL to your array.

I recommend UltraEdit from http://www.ultraedit.com/ it's the absolute best I've seen, it does everything.

Wordpad is also adequate for editing plain text.

Cheers
