Large multi-level menu - want to optimize or speed up

I would like to know if there's anything I can do to speed up the menu rendering on my company website. Though its content are generated from a database, it is not generated at runtime (i.e. it is regenerated when we change something on the database side). The menu itself is fairly large and contains multiple levels.

Right now, the load times are manageable, but since that menu could get larger, I don't want it to bog down browsers. Perhaps there is a way to cache the menu objects so that the browser doesn't have to render it on each page load?

Any help would be much appreciated.
