Does the Menu-bar slow down as it gets bigger?

Hi Everyone. I have a quick question...

The menu-bar on my site used to be really fast. When I put my mouse over it the bar would come down quickly, when I scroll down a page it would follow me very quickly. But now it is extremely sluggish, is this because my computer getting lousier, or does the amoount of information in one menu-bar, or the amount of information on the page affect how fast the menu is?

And, is there any cure for it?

Thanks!
Ave.

Hi Ave,

I have read one or two posts in the past about menu response becoming much slower when the menus become quite large. See, for example, this previous post and this one. And this previous post may also hold a possible solution that you could apply??? How many menus/items do you have? I also have experienced varying response with the Follow Scolling property, depending on the browser being used.

If you could post a URL to your site, we'd be able to check it out. You'd have lots of people evaluating the problem; who knows, maybe it works fine for most other users and something on your system is causing the problem. We could also take a look at the code and see if there's something we can spot that might fix the problem.

Hey, looking at other posts, it looks like its probably just slow on my computer. I have a some what old PII 300 so that's probably the problem. The only thing is, it wasn't slow when I first used it.

The website is at http://www.xcountryab.net However, that if you have a solution, I'm not exactly code-saavy, so I probably won't have any clue what you're talking about... :)

Thanks!
Ave.
