Script Error when Encoding changed to Chinese (GB2312)

Hi

Script error will occur in IE 6.0 whenever charset GB2312 is used on a page.

It can be replicated on this side by just selecting the Chinese/Japanese Encoding after the page is loaded.

Thanks you

Do you have a demo of this problem?

My site is not on line yet.. but the error can be seen with this home site (http://www.milonic.co.uk).

Select Encoding to Chinese at any page with the DHTML Menu will cause the error. I am using IE 6.0 Windows XP. It doesn't seem to occur with an older version 3.3.19.

Andy,

I too am having the same exact problems and can pinpoint the exact locations in the script that a having the problems.

Line 42, Char 108
Expected )

Line 198, Char 1
Object expected

And it is very easy to reproduce if you do set IE to use Chinese Simplified GB2312 encoding.

This is happening with the new 3.5 version and it is a new bug as it did not happen in the older versions.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff Kelling

I've posted a fix to the download.

Version 3.5.01 should cure the problem. It's been tested so it should work on your menus. If not let me know and I'll take a look.

Cheers
Andy
