Leaving a ghost in RC1

This problem is only in RC1. I went back to 4.13 beta and the problem was not there.

I have five sub-menues that occupy the same space. Depending on what main menu item has been selected, the visibility property of one sub-menu is set to visible and the visibility property of all the others is set to hidden. I am working with different combinations of options between the keepalive and alwaysvisible properties to get the effect that I want, so right now 1 of the five sub-menues has the alwaysvisible property set to 1 (all the others are set to 0).

If the alwaysvisible=1 submenu is set visibility=hidden, it leaves a light gray area where the submenu used to be. (Not sure where this color comes from since it is not the background or bgcolor of either the layer underneath nor the body.) This does not happen for the sub-menues with alwaysvisible=0. If one of the alwaysvisible=0 submenues goes away (since keepalive=0), the gray area equal to the size of the problem sub-menu is still there.

This happens using IE5.5 on Win98, but it does NOT happen using Netscape 4.79 nor NS7.0. This site is under development locally and is not available on-line yet.
