pagecolor and frames

First off, let me say that the menu is working flawlessly except for this one issue. I have a site with two frames. The top frame is the navigation frame (where the menu resides) and the bottom frame is where the content is loaded. So my problem is that because the menu is in the top frame, none of the menu links ever use the pagecolor/pagebgcolor attributes because it is not looking at the target frame's (bottom) URL to determine what page a user has navigated to.

So I guess my question is, is there a way for the pagecolor/pagebgcolor attribute to reference the target frame's URL instead of its own URL?

If not, any ideas on a workaround to get this to work?

Thanks!
