Menu Problems

Hi, I've run into a few problems using the menus, namely:

- They do not appear right away, I have to force refresh the browser to see them. (IE6)

- They are misligned on Firefox and the drop down's are all the wrong sizes.

- Netscape 4.9 has smaller underlined links until I roll over them and they appear as they should.

- How do I assign a name/id to the images used in the main menu so I can get my rollovers working?

The website I'm working on is here:

Remember you will need to force refresh to see the menu's.

I checked out your site and did not have to refresh to see the menus - they popped right up and pretty fast as well.

You do have some alignment problems - I assume you want to the menu centered on the page. I'm using IE version 6.0

Ditto Rudy's comments, it worked ok for me too on IE6.

However, on NS7.1 the sub-menus were really wide.

First things first...

You are way down-level. You're running RC27 (no longer supported), the current release (as of this morning) is v5.14. Upgrade at http://milonic.com/, read the install files that come with the download for info on the changes, and then let us know how it goes.

Ok, I've downloaded and updated it to the latest version, it's fixed the problem with the Netscape 4.8 text but the alignment is still different for every browser, check the following page in Netscape 4.8, Fire Fox and IE. It looks correct in IE and broken in everything else:

Also, as before, the drop down menu's are incorrect widths in Firefox.

Ok, I've figured out why the positioning is a problem, it's because they way the pages are built the sizes are different from the top and left of the page. Still doesn't explain why the dropdowns are all different sizes in FireFox though.

Don't worry, I've got it figured out now.

What was the problem and fix? I'm having the same issues with alignment and the wide submenus in NS!
