Poster: kgp43

Hi again.

Just installed the menu, and it works great :)
I'm editing the file, but cant get rid of the "Milonic Menu" link. Where do I do that, or is it not allowed?

If you purchased the menu, then you should get a version without the link, otherwise the link is a non removeable part of it.

To clarify just a little, if you purchase a license for the menu (or qualify for a free license), you will need to download the menu again. The code is generated based on whether or not you have a license. If you do not have a license, code for the "Milonic Menu" link is included in the menu script.

hello,

I am the small Frenchwoman (Canary) that everyone disputes because I do not speak English!

Me too, I have the same problem as you. Then it is possible no to make differently without buying the licence? One cannot do something? for example to find an ace of the menu?

Good Day

My post was in no way a 'dispute' of your French. It's simply a matter of making the information on this Forum available to as many folks as possible. Since the vast majority here speak English, that is the language of the board. I thought I had explained that clearly, and in a friendly manner, in my post.

If you use the free version of the menu the Milonic link must stay in place. If you qualify for a free license (I have not seen your site, so I can't answer that), the link will come out, as it will if you buy a license (inexpensive by any standards, especially given what you get in this product).

Should you find some way to remove the Milonic link from the free version (assuming that is what, "One cannot do something? for example to find an ace of the menu?" means) you are inviting legal action.

Problem removing Milonic from popup menu, even with license

I got a free license. Downloaded the menu again. The new menu still has the Milonic link in top position. I am more than happy to include a link from an icon, provided by you, or from text, in prominent part of my website, to Milonic's site. What else need I do to make the menu's be appropriate to my site?

In the trial download I did there is a lot of time invested. Specifically the menu_data.js file. I would prefer not to overwrite this file with the new downloaded ones, after the licensing, and loose over 12 hrs of work. How can I save the old, dry, blood, sweat, and tears?

Did you just now receive the license info from Milonic, or has it been a while? Sometimes it takes an extra day or two after you get the info for it to appear in the licensed user database.

Also, are you logging in to your account on the main site before downloading? Note that account is different from the one here on the Forum. You must be logged in before downloading for the system to recognize you and then send the proper version.

When you get new versions, it is usually not necessary to overwrite the _data file (it was a few times early in the beta, but no longer). Just replace all 3 of the menu code files and leave your data file alone.

Got the license about 40 hours ago. I will continue to try in the next few days. Thank you for the quick response. Glad to hear the data file is preserved!!

Thanks again.

If you're not able to get the proper version, when logged in, in the next few days, drop a note to marty __at__ milonic.com and ask her how it's coming.

Prefer check by mail or in the transporter room?

When I try to log out of Milonic's site with Safari, it does not log me out. With IE 5.2, it works ok. Is it possible that my account is still open or active and I can not get the new licensed copies because of this?

These questions may seem foolish to the knowledgeable... I am trying to beat a path to Knowledge through the jungle of ignorance. Be patient. :-)

Hi,

We have been experiencing technical difficulties with the login system.

They should now be resolved though.

Cheers

Oh, transporter room, of course. That way I can get the heck out of here at the same time!

Removing Milonic Link with licensed version

Just a couple of days ago, I purchased a licensed version of Milonic. I did redownload. I copied one of your samples "Table Based Menu" and want to use it as a jumping off place and change the parameters/links to suit my project. It has the Milonic link at the top of the menu. How do I delete that?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anna Sue,

Were you logged in when you downloaded the sample? When logged in you should see your license number and website when you go to the download page for the sample you want. The menu should then not have the Milonic link when you use it.

Removing Melonic

Ruth,

Thanks for your reply. I don't believe I was logged in at the time but after reading your message, I did log in and got menu_samples/index.htm, I think it was. I have the code displaying the menu I want to display and am now trying to remove all extra text in the file so I can plug in MY text.

I have shaved off most of it but if I remove the line about getting instrux on removing the Milonic link (For instructions on removing the forced popup message, please visit <a href=http://www.milonic.com/removelink.php>http://www.milonic.com/removelink.php</a>), the Milonic link then appears. I don't understand because there doesn't appear to be any code in here???

Please see:

http://www.willowbrook.org/menu_sample/

Please help; this is of a bit of an urgent nature.

Thank you,
Anna Sue[/url]

Hi Anna Sue,

If you open the milonic_src.js file you will see that it says:

License Number: 1000 for Unlicensed

That's an unlicensed version, and that is why you get the link when you remove the link for milonic.

annasue wrote:

I don't know about the menu_samples/index.htm that you mention. You should log in on the main site, go to the page with the sample menu you want, for example, the table bound menu is http://www.milonic.com/menusample9.php When you get to the actual sample page, there will be a link at the bottom that says Click Here to Download This Sample. Click that link and when you arrive at the actual download page, as long as you are logged in you should see this :

Code:
Menu Download
Your menu download has now been created and can be retrieved by clicking one of the following 2 download links.

Table Based (Relative) Menus in .zip format
Table Based (Relative) Menus in .tar.gz format

The Current Menu Version is Version 5.721

The Domain name that this download has been created for is: http://whatever your domain is that you registered when you bought the license.com, license number xxxxx [whatever your license number is]

After you download it, just unzip the 3 base files: milonic_src.js, mmenudom.js and mmenuns4.js to the directory where you have your menu_data.js file already made. Don't unzip the menu_data.js file in the zip download or you will overwrite your existing menu_data.js file.

Let me know if you have anymore problems.
