Google buying Opera

Just heard that Google has announced it will be buying the Opera browser and intend to make it so full of time saving features, that users will switch from IE Explorer browser and most likely some of the other popular browsers as well. Fox news network is announcing this... As Opera is so much faster already and with added time-saving features this should be interesting to try.

Just for your information...

Would like to hear anyones thoughts on this :?:

I have used Opera but it takes very long to load for me, and it still has problems with iframes and dhtml content. Hope they fix that if they do buy it.

I like IE and am not adverse to saying so :) but would never knock another browser just because it's not the one I use or like! Now, knocking those who belittle and demean a browser just because they don't like it, that's a different story :}

I must say that this is news to me.

It's also a bit of a shock as Google are heavily involved with the Mozilla team and are helping to develop Firefox.

We do have a few contact at Opera and I'll ask them to see if they can indeed shed some light on this rumor.

Cheers,
Andy
