What is the best style for my site??

Hi all, Would appreciate some advice on the best menu to use. Want to make sure I purchase license for the one that will need the least tweaking.

New website design has a horizontal main and sub nav with static background that runs the width of layout. Sub nav goes below main with a different background. Want the entire graphic line for both main and sub navs to show all the time, want the main nav to be visible all the time, and want the sub nav to work on rollovers.

Link to sample page is:

Have been experimenting with the Static Background Item Images. But the differences in position from Firefox to IE are very concerning. Would almost just use this .js, removing the .js background image if I could get it to consistently position over the background image.

Is there one perfect milonic .js that will let me run the background the width of the page from within the script so I wouldn't need background gif?? Then I wouldn't care if the position shifted because the background would live/move with the nav.

Also, is there a fix for the position challenge between IE and FFox??

Thanx a bunch in advance for your opinions.
jeff

Hi,

You only buy a license for the menu, you can use any or all or mix and match samples. The license doesn't limit you to a particular one.

As to the issue of FF, NN, versus IE, usually that is fixable in the stylesheet. Or many place the menu in a table so that it remains where they want it no matter the site resolution or platform. There's a link below my name to info on placing the menu in a table.

The first thing I do in my stylesheet is to set the body margin, that way it's the same in all browsers as the starting point for the layout.

It will be much easier to test things if you had a full page layout so all the interactions of different things on the page can be tested. I've downloaded it and will take a look, but you could get a fix and then add something and have it all go out of place again.

Ruth

thanx

Thank you Ruth for the suggestions. I will give the body margin a try.
Best,
jeff :D
