My third level menu interferes with flash under it. It happens in IE6.
The page I am talking about is here: http://delphinsub.aktualne.cz/index.html
What is the problem please? Z index for menu is set higher than the flash.

I'm not sure what you mean by "interferes with". I looked at the page you referenced and I don't see a problem with any of the menus that overlap the same space as either of the two flash clips that sit below the main menu (I used IE6.0.2900.2180, Flash Player 7,0,19,0 in WinXP). Specifically which flash, and which menu are having a problem?

Flash is an embedded object and, depending on the browser, doesn't necessarily respond to z-indexes the way most other objects do. It wants to occupy the top layer no matter what. Usually this is apparent in older or crappier browsers though; I've never known this to be a problem in IE6.

I know this is an odd question, but are you sure it's IE6? If so, is it a very old release of IE6? Have you tried it from multiple computers?

Nice looking menus by the way.

Hi Kevin,
the third submenu draws over flash and after leaving the submenu, the flash (Mistral breathing aparatus) is partly blanked by the menu.
For example this menu:
1.level - Novinky
2.level - Nove produkty
3.level - Nove produkty z roku 2004

I tried:
IE 6.0.2800.1106
IE 6.0.29 sp2
flashplayer 7,0,19,0

It works well in Mozzila Firefox.

Hi db,

I see it now. Sorry I missed it earlier. Not sure what's going on there. I'll have a closer look, and also report it to Milonic.

I'm thinking that the issue is not really relatyed to flash; your flash clip just happens to be under where the menus in question open. According to the version information page, version 5.712, "Fixed bug with menus leaving ghost areas on screen if more than 3 menus were opened." You are running v5.71, which came out only a few days before 5.712 (unlucky timing). The current version is 5.716. If you download and install the current version, the problem should be solved.

Kevin, please look at the page after milonic menu upgrade.... The menu draws under the flash now, and the items are not clickable.
Help me please or I go crazy

Hi db,

Sorry for the delayed reply. Just got back into the forums. I checked the site using IE6 in WinXP and Win 2000 and, at least for me, the menus are opening above the flash, including the third-level subs. The blank area that was previously left behind by the third-level subs is no longer happening, again at least for me.

Anybody else out there seeing this problem (visit the url in db's first post to this thread)?

db, are you still getting the menu-behind-flash problem on your end?

I will report the problem to Milonic and send an email to Andy to see if they can reproduce the problem and deal with it from there. In the meantime, if you are still getting the problem, you might want to report the problem to Milonic. With the weekend upon us, you might not get a faster response through the free forums (activity tends to drop on the weekends). I see that you have a professional license, so you can bypass the forums and go directly to Milonic using the support page.

Sorry I can't be of much more help. I can't reproduce the problem on any of my machines, so I can't really do much at this point.

Hi,
FWIW, the third level drops behind the flash on IE5.5 and any second level items that drop over the flash have the left maybe 1/4 inch missing from the menus.
