Need Header at 100% using images

Hello,

I am using Milonic horizontal nav menu 5.46 using images and it is working great at a width of 720px. However I now want to use this same menu but have it render at 100%. I am currently using 5 images and want to add a 6th image as a background image so it will repeat and make the header render at 100%. Is this possible? I have tried everything I can think of but with no luck so far. I have been able to create a 2nd menu with a background color at 100% and it works but as I lay one menu over the other it makes my existing images view darker. I am using the following code but am getting nowhere. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You'll need to upgrade to the newest version of the menu, it may actually do what you want. Make sure you keep a copy of your version 5.46 in case there's some conflict with the existing site. A url to your page would be helpful and make it easier to figure a solution.

Hello Ruth,

I upgraded to 5.719 and have created a page for viewing purposes. I hope you can help me with my issue. I also hope I am using the code and url tags correctly.

What I am trying to do is get the header to render at 100%. If you notice I have built the header using images. What I want to do is get the last blue image to somehow be a background image so it will render the page at 100% the way the table below the header renders. I have tried several scenarios before I upgraded and after and have had no luck so far. I am able to create 2 menus but when I lay one over the other the background color makes my images darker. I also notice that when I roll over the last blue image it shows like it has a link. However in the code I only show the image. How can I turn this off. I am sending the code I am using and a url. I would like to know how to add the bgimage in the code. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Also to John. Apologies for adding this issue in the images category. I tried to remove but couldn't figure out how.

Hi Steve,
I see what you want. You want the background of the full menu at 100% to be that image and you can do that, but when you do it and expand the menu to 100% the image doesn't 'stretch' to be the right size, it repeats, like any background does to fill the space, that means that the white on the right side of that image will show up in whatever visible part is not covered by an item image. Having said that, to make the image span the 100% as a 'background' to the other images, you would code it like this:

Hi Ruth,

This is exactly what I am trying to do. I modified the image to remove the white lines as rendered in the url. However I see some blue line under the background image and 3 of the 5 other images. I noticed this in versions I was creating. I have added border="0" when calling these images and I can't see any differences in my images or can think of anything else that I need to change. Any ideas? I will continue to troubleshoot on my end. Thanks.

Your images are not the same size. The one that doesn't show a border is 1px higher than the others, as is the logo image. So the images that are 57px high show a dark line at the bottom, which is the menu background, and the two that are 58 show just the white 2px bottom border that is part of them.

Have another question that I touched on earlier. I just noticed this on another header at a defined width. We also are using the blank.jpg as a placeholder on the header but I just noticed today that the blank.jpg shows up as a link and I do not want it to. In the code I have a call with a url and the other I am just calling the image. Is there something I need to turn off?

I don't know what you mean by placeholder. Also, I'm not sure why you have those extra aI strings with the spacer_01.jpg in it as separators, why not just use it as a separatorimage in the menuStyle definition? This would be your menuStyle with all the things you have working, plus using the spacer as a separator.

I got rid of all the aI strings with the spacer_01.jpg in them in the main menu, got rid of the blank, and added this as the last item. By putting that as a last item, it adds a separator right after the about_us

Ruth,

I now have a header that I am building at 760px wide. To make the header work the way I need I have just inserted images but use a separator image as you suggested for separation of the images. My issue is that my last image is a blank blue image that should not be a link but is. I have tried to use the menubgimage option as I used in building a header at 100%. This did not shade the image as wide as needed. I then added menuwidth="760" first to the menu style and then to the main menu but this did not provide the result I needed. How can I get the blank blue image to show up at the width I need but not be a link when I roll over the image? I am attaching code that I am using and a url. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
