Right side of menubar cut off in NN v. 6.2.2

I am new and trying to learn this great program. You can see my problem __at__ http://www.thirdageinc.com/customdecks/ using Netscape v. 6.2.2. The right side of the menu bar is cut off.

It looks correct in IE 6.0.2600.000.

Have I done something wrong or is there a work-around on this?

Thanks in advance for any help given

Strange, it does it in NN 7.1 also. One thing, get rid of the <-- you have to 'block' that mymilonic. Use // in front of it. I'll post this info for the developers. In the meantime, I do remember something like this before, and I think the person put a dummy menu item as the last one and that seemed to be a fix while while the problem was being investigated.
Put aI("text=;"); as the last item and test that.

Thanks for the suggestion on the last line entry. However, it didn't resolve the problem. Hopefully, the coders at Milonic will have an answer.

I also noticed that on the NN browser the Shadow attribute was not working. Maybe that has nothing to do with the cut off problem. That would be a minor problem if the cut off problem were resolved.

I also observed that when the page was refreshed the full line of the menu bar flashed on momentarily but then cut off . I mention this just in case it may be a clue as to what's going on.

If you're talking about the shadow in the overfilter property, the overfilter is for an MS proprietary code, their filters and transitions, it works with DirectX I believe it is and only works in IE on a PC and will not show in other browsers, even in those like Opera where you choose to 'emulate' IE.
There is a beta module that you might try. This is the thread which talks about opacity [and shadow gets mentioned there] http://www.milonic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20795 This is the link to a demo. Mouseover the main menu and take a look at the subs. It's using a fader.js module which you can get here I don't thinkt here will be any further development of this since opacity will be a standard property in CSS 3.

If you want other filters and transitions that you can experiment with in the menu there's a demo, again these will only work in IE, the transitions in IE5+ and most of the filters also, though shadow, glow and alpha work in 4+ You can see the demo here It's interactive so you can apply different transitions but you must have IE to see them.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info on the filter. Rather than say it is a minor problem I should have said it would be no problem at all as long as the menu is not cut off.

I was looking at some of the users of Milonic and found 2 others that clipped the end of the menu. One horizontal and the other a vertical menu. Looking at the source code, I could not see any reason for the problem on theirs either.

I also looked at a few other users who are using v 5.715 in Netscape where the menu was complete. I did not see any obvious difference in the coding than what I have.

It's a mystery to me!

I did post to have it checked but haven't received a response yet. I'm sure they are working on it.

Hi Ruth,

Did you post something to Milonic about this problem. If you did I've not seen it. Can you tell me where it is, I'll take a look if it needs looking at.

Cheers

Hi Andy,
Yes, up in admin. I just went to the Milonic home page with Netscape 7.1 and then clicked on increasing the font size. That menu doesn't lose the right border, but the menu doesn't get bigger text just runs together unless you refresh, then it's fine. Then if you make the text size smaller at that point the text gets smaller but the menu stays the same width it was for the larger font.

Oops, must have missed it.

Anyway, this might be a problem. The reason is that we need to fire the fixMenu() function whenever anything changes to fix the dimensions of the menu. The problem we have is that I don;t think there is an event for "Text Size Change"

However, how often would somebody change the text size of their browser?

I'll look into this but I'm doubtful that we can find a solution just yet.

Thanks, Andy. And, could you take a look at the site posted here? They have the right border missing from their menu. I can see it, but though I've tried a number of things, I can't find out why it's doing that.
