Flash+Milonic+IE on PC

Have a really weird problem. Not sure if its related to the menu or just a flash issue but i thought i would start here.

Please refer to http://morrisonhomes.ca/homeSearch.bpsx in IE

There is a big flash movie embedded in this page but in IE it fails to open when the page loads. the only way to get the movie to actually start is to open one of the Milonic menus at the top of the page. As soon as that menu opens the flash movie starts as well.

Please let me know what you think. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Hi,

No matter what I do I get no flash object. It is downloading, I see it in the temp internet files, but if I right click on the page, all over the page, I get no little grey menu with the macromedia flash stuff.

I finally got it to show loading 95% but only after I put a height in the div for the flash object and moused over that div. The flash doesn't show with or without the menu on the page unless I put some kind of height in the div, the smallest that would work was 3px and then a mouseover of the div, so maybe that's why it is working when the menu is opened because you are somehow mousing over the div.

I got it to come up and actually work, but it took running the mouse over a menu to get things going. The second the mouse hit a menu Flash came alive.

Unfortunately I have no idea what's going on at this point.

Hi John,

I think it has something to do with that flash div with how it is set up, using that flashsize.js and the swfobject.js and the function for the flash. I think this might have to go to Milonic. I know it's beyond me.

Thanks to both of you for weighing in on this. I appreciate it as i have been pulling my hair out with this for awhile.

So if this does need to go to Milonic how do i go about doing that? let me know what you think

I can't seem to work this out.

For some reason your Flash is returning a JavaScript error all by itself, see here: http://morrisonhomes.ca/homeSearch.swf

Also, I can't see where it is you are using our code for activating the Flash. The file is there but not being referenced.

The only thing I can suggest is that you remove the other Flash Activation code and try ours and see if that helps or not.

Cheers,
Andy

Andy

Is the the Flash activation code you are referring to?

Hi,

Yes, that's the one. And this is the information page on the flash activation in the newer IE

http://www.milonic.com/activateflash.php

The bottom of the page has a link to that file and also links to pages that show it working
